Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog's Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis revisits Lara Croft's original adventure, aiming to bridge the puzzle-focused early games and the cinematic survivor trilogy. I played an early build at Summer Game Fest and, while the direction feels promising, the team's decision to delay the game to February 12, 2027 appears justified.

Experience director Jeff Adams called the project both an "incredible honor" and a "crushing responsibility." The demo reconstructed The Lost Valley — collecting cogs to power ancient machinery and confronting dinosaurs — keeping the original level's spirit while changing layout and flow.

Legacy leans back toward puzzle-driven design: multiple paths, collectibles, and a scanner that hints at interactable objects without solving them for you. Game director Raul Siqueira framed the title around a balance of puzzles, combat and traversal, and the combat has been expanded beyond an afterthought.
