Tom Hanks Says Disney Could Use AI to Recreate Woody's Voice

For the past 30 years Tom Hanks has helped define Sheriff Woody, voicing the character across five films from the original Toy Story in 1995 through the new Toy Story 5 now in theaters. In the latest installment he has handed the reins to Jessie as the primary protagonist, and Woody—who left Bonnie’s room at the end of Toy Story 4 to forge a new life with Bo Peep—returns showing visible signs of aging, including a bald spot and a small potbelly.

Hanks has suggested Disney could use artificial intelligence to recreate his voice for Toy Story 6 and future entries. "Time is undefeated. The question would be whether or not we could cobble together some version of me.
