Todd Howard says Arkane is 'doing a really, really good job' on Blade
Xbox's ongoing regime change and reorganization has done little to inspire confidence in the state of its studios. Arkane Lyon has remained almost entirely out of the public eye since Marvel's Blade was announced at the 2023 Game Awards, skipped this month's Xbox Games Showcase, and subsequent reports that 'several' Microsoft developers are at risk of closure stoked fears that Arkane and Blade had been quietly put out to pasture.
Speaking in an Entertainment Weekly report, Bethesda Softworks boss Todd Howard said work on Marvel's Blade remains underway. He said he wasn't at liberty to say when more would be shown, but had seen some of Arkane's work on May 21 and called the team 'doing a really, really great job.' That reassurance, coupled with an Arkane artist's recent request to let the studio cook, offers a welcome sign of life.
