Tired of AI Overviews? Nine Google alternatives that return links

If you want a links-first search experience without AI summaries, several alternatives remain. Startpage and DuckDuckGo stand out, and Mojeek is the best option if you want an independent index rather than results repackaged from Google or Bing. Startpage submits queries to Google and Bing anonymously, does not store IP addresses or use tracking cookies, and can mask your IP with an Anonymous View feature.

It treats AI as optional and lets you disable search suggestions, instant answers, and promotional messaging; its Vanish product offers private access to models with local, untracked conversations. DuckDuckGo doesn’t save or share search or browsing history and says it never logs IP addresses or unique identifiers to disk.

It does include AI features, but its noai.duckduckgo.com page disables Search Assist, Duck.ai, and AI-generated images by default.
