Timo Tjahjanto Teases Sequel to Netflix Hit The Big 4

Director Timo Tjahjanto has signaled that a follow-up to his 2022 Netflix action film The Big 4 is moving forward. He shared a blurred image of the four lead characters on X, captioning it with a single word: "Assembling." The original film introduced a team of four retired assassins who reunite after encountering a straight-arrow cop while hunting an elusive killer.

Starring Abimana Aryasatya, Lutesha, Arie Kriting and Kristo Immanuel, the movie blended broad comedy with gory action, earned a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score and became the streamer’s second-most-watched non-English title. The first outing left several plot threads unresolved, including tension between the gang and the antagonist Lady Zero, and a return with Tjahjanto at the helm would address that unfinished business.
