Tifa Lockhart joins Street Fighter 6 in Capcom x Square Enix crossover

Final Fantasy 7's Tifa Lockhart is joining the roster of Street Fighter 6 in an official Capcom x Square Enix crossover. She was introduced at Summer Game Fest in an anime-style trailer that debuted Street Fighter 6's Year 4 roster additions. Alongside Tifa — who is slated to join early 2027 — the Year 4 additions include two new fighters, Yasmine and Arjun, plus Bosch, a non-playable character from World Tour.

The reveal offered no gameplay or clear hints at Tifa's move set, just a short anime vignette showing her smiling and clutching her right wrist. Official artwork at the end of the trailer shows her in the white-and-black crop top look from the games, rendered in Street Fighter 6 graphics, and it's been suggested she may have alternate costumes.

Many in the Tekken community, who have long hoped for a playable Tifa to the point it has become a meme online, may feel some sympathy seeing the character head to a rival fighting game.
