Three Golden Buzzers in the AGT Season 21 Premiere
The America's Got Talent season premiere saw three acts earn Golden Buzzers as judges and host began handing out the season's prizes. Howie Mandel, Mel B, Simon Cowell and Sofía Vergara judge the auditions, while host Terry Crews also has Golden Buzzers; each has two to give, for a total of 10 this season.
Simon Cowell awarded his Golden Buzzer to 14-year-old singer Lai Noelle from Texas after her controlled, low-voiced performance of “Die On This Hill.” Vergara had considered pressing the buzzer herself before Cowell turned and hit it, and Noelle left the stage overwhelmed, rushing to hug her parents.
Terry Crews gave his Golden Buzzer to the Acro Canine Crew, an Edmonton dance team of women and girls aged 7 to 21 whose routine featured dogs of all sizes. The animals became the unexpected stars, prompting Vergara to exclaim in delight as Crews ran down from the stage to award the buzzer while the pups looked around in confusion.
