I keep these three devices permanently connected to a power station
Power stations are usually pulled out for emergencies or trips, but I keep a few permanently connected as uninterruptible power supplies. Having essential kit always on avoids finding a dead battery, hunting for cables, or suddenly losing network access. The first thing I put on a UPS was my modem and router.
Losing home Wi‑Fi is the biggest interruption for our work-from-home family, and mobile networks often slow when many people switch over during outages. Because modems and routers draw little power, a modest battery can keep them running for a day or more: an EcoFlow River 3 Plus at 286Wh can power my modem and router for a full workday, while an Anker Solix C1000 with a 1,056kWh capacity would last roughly three times as long.
A UPS also would have saved a trip when I accidentally cut the circuit to my modem and briefly lost remote access to cameras. A refrigerator is another device worth backing up to prevent food loss.
