Ahead of its summer showcase, Xbox chief content officer Matt Booty promised to be clear about which platforms each game would appear on. He said the company would continue showing platform logos at the end of showcase trailers to indicate where a title will be available, noting that fans can expect to see Switch 2 and PS5 logos when first‑party games like Fable or Halo: Campaign Evolved are multiplatform.

The response was fast and sharp across YouTube and social media. Prominent Xbox poster Klobrille wrote that many expected Xbox to “really focus on their own platform at least for the time of the Showcase,” while podcaster Colteastwood called the move “a major lack of confidence in their own Ecosystem.” Xbox CEO Asha Sharma later acknowledged the backlash on X: “Seeing the feedback on logos… It was a miss, and I own it.

We are talking about how we adjust for future XBOX shows.” At the heart of the dispute is a longer standing tension over multiplatform releases.
