The Wolf Among Us 2 finally has a 2027 release target

When Telltale returned under new management in 2019 it announced The Wolf Among Us 2, but fans have been waiting ever since. A new trailer at the Summer Game Fest showcase offers a fresh look at Bigby’s next case, and the characters — and headaches — he’ll face as he investigates a new mystery: "Homicide.

Six total so far. Each case husband and wife found shredded. People are dying. Some monster is out there. Word around the precinct is you're the guy to call." The game's development has been unexpectedly long and occasionally peppered with rumors that it had been cancelled.

It was actually meant to be out in 2018, a full eight years ago, but Telltale's closure later that same year obviously had an impact on that. As Harvey Randall noted in 2024, "to say that The Wolf Among Us 2 has had a troubled development would be like saying that a highway pile up has had a mild impact on traffic." Telltale has now committed to a release target: 2027.
