CD Projekt revealed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has exceeded 65 million copies sold. The studio's chief financial officer, Piotr Nielubowicz, said this milestone cements the game’s place among the best-selling videogames, noting the title recently celebrated its 11th anniversary.

On Wikipedia, The Witcher 3 is now listed as the eighth best-selling videogame of all time, placed behind Terraria at 70 million copies and ahead of Super Mario Bros. at 58 million. It remains well short of the top sellers like Tetris, Minecraft, and Grand Theft Auto 5.

The game’s sales show a steady, long tail. It reached 20 million copies in 2019, four years after release, then 50 million four years later. In 2025 it hit 60 million, and another five million copies have been added in the past year. CD Projekt announced a surprise expansion, Songs of the Past, earlier this week and has teased additional new content for this year.
