After two long years, Interview with the Vampire returns under a new name: The Vampire Lestat. The third season borrows its title from the second book in Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles and shifts the focus to Lestat, played by Sam Reid.

Early reviews are strong: the season debuted at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Dan Seckle calls it 'Wild and Weird,' and Nerdist describes it as 'unlike anything else on television.'

The series retains the interview framework and flashback-driven backstory but appears to move at a faster, rock 'n' roll pace to match its subject, even adopting a standalone title rather than a subtitle beneath Interview with the Vampire.

The Vampire Lestat begins Sunday evenings on June 7 on AMC, entering a crowded summer slate and facing titles such as House of the Dragon, which premieres one week later.
