The Vampire Lestat Premiere Sets Up Season 4
Rather than opening with Lestat (Sam Reid) at the height of his rockstar era, The Vampire Lestat premiere, "Detroit," jumps forward to a moment long after the band’s tour. The episode begins at a private auction in an airplane hangar, where items from Lestat’s collection are displayed — one lot, his discography, is set on fire before bidding even begins, in a move that calls to mind The Phantom of the Opera.
The next lot is a music box Lestat curated, containing 111 recordings labelled the “Failings.” Those recordings reportedly document the making of the band’s 2025 album, the tour, and “the consequential global catastrophes” that followed. Louis (Jacob Anderson) arrives on a prosthetic leg and using a cane, while Armand (Assad Zaman) wears an eyepatch; Lestat himself is notably absent as the two men vie to outbid one another for the Failings.
