'The Studio' filmed a Season 2 scene in NYC referencing Catherine O'Hara's death
Seth Rogen’s Apple TV satire The Studio filmed a Season 2 episode in New York, staging a scene at Gallagher’s Steakhouse on W. 52nd Street. The production used the restaurant’s real waiters and bartenders and shot Rogen and Ike Barinholtz at the eatery’s central bar shortly before it opened.
Rogen, who plays studio chief Matt Remick, and Barinholtz’s character Sal Saperstein are shown discussing the death of Patty, the producer character modeled after Amy Pascal and played by the late Catherine O'Hara. O'Hara died in January at age 71 after a brief illness.
She had been meant to appear in Season 2 while the series was actively filming, but the schedule was reworked to focus on scenes without her character and she never shot her scenes; her death was described as a total shock and she was remembered as the most beloved person on the set.
