The Sheep Detectives streams on Prime Video June 24

The Sheep Detectives will start streaming on Prime Video on Wednesday, June 24. Hugh Jackman helped make the announcement in a very "Baaaahh!"-filled video on X; he plays George, a shepherd who is found dead. A few members of his flock set off to dig into the case and assist the small town's only police officer as they investigate George's suspicious death.

The film serves up multiple conniving suspects, a bevy of good jokes, and a dramatic will-reading scene — a Knives Out-style mystery, but with sheep. Nicholas Galitzine, Nicholas Braun, and Molly Gordon lead the non-murdered human cast. Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Chris O'Dowd, Bryan Cranston, and Patrick Stewart lend their voices to the sheep, among others.

Though cozy in tone, the movie also offers a meditation on grief, the pain of remembering, and the ostracization of others, so have a box of tissues ready.
