The Paper Season 2 premieres Sept. 9, 2026, in first teaser
Peacock has set The Paper Season 2 to premiere on Sept. 9, 2026, unveiling the date in a brief teaser that opens on a close-up of a typewriter and offers a quick glimpse of the main cast. The Paper debuted on Peacock on Sept. 4, 2025, and follows the documentary crew from The Office as they chronicle a fledgling newspaper in Toledo, Ohio.
The series stars Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Romona Young, Tim Key, and Alex Edelman, with Oscar Nunez reprising his role as Oscar Martinez. All Season 2 episodes are expected to drop at once, as with Season 1.
The show was renewed for a second season before its premiere and earned an 86% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from 105 reviews; it was also among the top ten original streaming series during the first two weeks of September 2025. Peacock has not yet renewed The Paper for a third season, and recent cancellations of Ponies, Poker Face, and Ted increase the pressure on the spin-off.
