After a multi-year wait, Apple launched its new AI-powered Siri at WWDC on Monday. The assistant keeps familiar Siri functions but is rebuilt around Apple Intelligence to handle multi-step requests, pull information from the internet and interpret what’s on your screen.

Apple also expanded its model offerings and infrastructure, enhancing Siri with Google’s Gemini through a partnership announced in January. Siri AI can access your Apple ecosystem to source information from messages, photos, emails and other apps based on a conversational prompt.

It can draft emails, edit photos, help brainstorm what to bring to a potluck and take more accurate dictation. A standalone Siri AI app will house past conversations and sync across devices so you can start on your phone and finish on a Mac or iPad. Apple frames the system as privacy-first, saying the latest Foundation Models run both on-device and in the cloud and are protected by Private Cloud Compute.
