Industry observers have contrasted Grogu's fall with the growing momentum behind indie hits Backrooms and Obsession.

Pat Casey and Josh Miller are writing a Streets of Rage movie, with Jeymes Samuel set to direct. The adaptation is said to lean heavily into the 1991 Sega brawler's cult roots, including its characters, acclaimed electronic soundtracks and beat-’em-up action.
