The Lost Wild preview: Jurassic Park meets Alien: Isolation
The Lost Wild is an upcoming first-person horror game revealed during Sony's June 2026 State of Play and set to launch in 2027. Developer Great Ape Games appears to meld Jurassic Park and Alien: Isolation into a stealth-focused survival title, and a live demo at Summer Game Fest suggested a nerve-racking experience aimed at a new generation of players.
The story begins when a character named Saskia crashes her car and stumbles into the woods with only a flashlight. Early signs of trouble include abandoned science equipment and a scientist gruesomely chomped in half by an Allosaurus, after which the game leans into slow, methodical stealth.
The dinosaur acts like an ambush predator rather than a predictable patrol, reacting if you run or overuse your flashlight. The demo drew clear comparisons to Alien: Isolation, while moments such as hunting for a keycard and a limited save system recalled Resident Evil; saves are a scarce resource and can be interrupted, leaving the player exposed.
