Filming on The Last of Us Season 3 began in March, with much of the shoot taking place in and around Vancouver. Early set photos surfaced showing cast members Kaitlyn Dever (Abby) and Kyriana Kratter (Lev), and the production had planned to shoot through November.

An official British Columbia productions directory lists a short hiatus: filming stopped on Jun. 1 and is scheduled to resume after Jun. 28. No official reason has been given for the pause. The break overlaps the start of the 2026 World Cup — Vancouver is one of 16 host cities and the tournament begins Jun.

11 — a major event that brings a large influx of visitors and could complicate local filming. Pauses for weather or local events are not uncommon. HBO's A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2 briefly shut down in April after unexpected rainfall in Gran Canaria; that production eventually returned to filming.
