'The Drama' Finally Lands Official Streaming Release Date
After its April release and a wave of controversy over both its subject matter and its director, The Drama will be available to stream. A24's film drew positive reviews while sparking debate, and Kristoffer Borgli wrote and directed the movie. Warner Bros. Discovery announced The Drama will arrive on HBO Max on Friday, Jul.
31, and will air on HBO linear on Saturday, Aug. 1 at 8 PM ET. The film stars Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Alana Haim, Mamoudou Athie and Hailey Benton Gates. Its synopsis reads, "A happily engaged couple is put to the test when an unexpected turn sends their wedding week off the rails." The Drama deconstructs that relationship, using the performances to examine forgiveness, morality and hidden pasts; the marketing had largely omitted the central secret that propels the story.
The Drama joins other A24 titles on HBO Max such as Marty Supreme and The Moment, and the audio-centric horror film Undertone will be available on the platform this Friday.
