Fifteen years after its original release, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth has reached its highest-ever player count following a massive sale that bundles the game and all expansions for $5.09 (its previous low was $26.46). SteamDB shows a new peak of 130,181 concurrent players (updated five minutes ago), surpassing the game's prior record of 70,701 set in 2021 with the Repentance expansion.

Earlier this year, creator Edmund McMillen released Mewgenics, which became a major hit and briefly outperformed Isaac on Steam. McMillen noted the recent surge, writing, "Isaac is about to beat Mewgenics for active players on Steam… unreal for a 15 year old game," and later: "The binding of Isaac has officially eclipsed Mewgenics for most active players with 123,429 active players this morning!
