Thanks for the Soup makes broccoli farming the heart of its horror
Thanks for the Soup is an immersive horror sim in which you deliver soup from 5pm to 1am to patrons stuck inside by a vague lockdown or simply too busy to cook. Filling orders earns money that can be spent on food, fishing or farming.
I chose to invest in an organic broccoli farm, and the delivery work quickly became a side hustle. The town is quietly unsettling: odd residents, sudden darkness, flashes of light, thick white fog and the occasional heavenly vision, but cycling around on a bike feels oddly peaceful.
Scattered across town are five kinds of mushrooms that alter your perception—Zuzu affects depth perception, Tolid boosts speed, Folor makes everything wavy, while the effects of Ulod and Cranim remain unclear. The mushrooms help blunt the fear on spooky nights, and I still haven’t entered the kitchen despite being warned not to—managers say it would disturb the chefs and risk revealing their secret recipe, which I’m content to leave alone so long as I can keep farming broccoli.
