Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin is Platinum's next action game

Skydance unveiled a new development arm, Paramount Games Studio, and revealed its first project: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin. PlatinumGames will develop the title. The Last Ronin is set in a future New York ruled by the grandson of Shredder, where a lone turtle seeks to avenge the deaths of his brothers.

The story comes from a limited series that is darker than typical TMNT fare and has been both critically and commercially successful. A different Last Ronin game was announced in 2023 from Black Forest Games; its current status is unclear. Paramount Games Studio will publish the game.

Variety says the new studio combines Skydance Interactive and Skydance New Media and will be led by Tony Driscoll. Skydance's previously announced projects, including Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra and an untitled Star Wars game with Amy Hennig, remain in development under the new structure.
