The "Ted Lasso" cast paid tribute to Anthony Head after the actor’s sudden death at age 72. Brett Goldstein shared a photo to his Instagram Stories, calling Head “a brilliant actor who played the worst person in the world,” an “incredible skill” because Head was “the best person.” He added, “Infinitely charming and kind and fun and a joy.

He will be sorely missed. Love to his family ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.” Head played Rupert Mannion, the vengeful and unfaithful ex-husband of Hannah Waddingham’s Rebecca Welton, across the first three seasons of the Apple TV series. The character was the previous owner of AFC Richmond and later owned a rival, West Ham United.

Keeley Hazell wrote that it was “what an honor it was” to work alongside him as her onscreen husband, and Jeremy Swift posted a selfie with the caption, “Goodbye Tony, we adored you, Rest in Peace my friend.” His daughters, Emily and Daisy, said Head died “peacefully” on Friday of “complications due to pneumonia.” His passing came months after his longtime partner, Sarah Fisher, died on Jan.
