Taylor Sheridan and Peter Berg to Make Call of Duty Film
Taylor Sheridan has been hired by Paramount Pictures to write a feature film adaptation of Call of Duty, the eighth produced screenplay he has penned since emerging with Sicario in 2015. The project reunites Sheridan with big-screen action storytelling after his work on film and television over the past decade.
Sheridan’s recent credits include collaborations with Denis Villeneuve on Sicario, David Mackenzie on Hell or High Water, and Stefano Sollima on Sicario 2: Day of the Soldado and Without Remorse, alongside his action-spy series Lioness: Special Ops. He will co-write Call of Duty with Zay Bond.
The production has been in development for years and previously lost Sollima as director; the plot remains under wraps but is expected to focus on moral conundrums and intense tactical missions. The film is slated for release on June 30, 2028. Peter Berg is attached to direct.
