Grammy-nominated producer Tay Keith dies aged 29
Tay Keith, the Grammy‑nominated producer born Brytavious Chambers, has been found dead at his apartment in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 29. Metro Nashville police said officers discovered him following a welfare check on Thursday afternoon; "No foul play is suspected," and the cause of death has not been determined.
Keith co‑produced two of 2018’s biggest hits: Travis Scott’s Sicko Mode, which reached No 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and Drake’s Nonstop, which climbed to No 2 that year. He received Grammy nominations for Sicko Mode in 2019 and for his production on Drake and 21 Savage’s Rich Flex in 2024.
Born and raised in Memphis, Keith began producing at 14 and worked with a wide range of artists, including Drake, Travis Scott and Beyoncé, as well as Cardi B, Eminem, Future, Lil Nas X and Miley Cyrus. In 2018 he founded the label and creative space Drumatized Music Group with his manager Cambrian Strong; the pair were featured on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in 2024.
