Sydney Sweeney's R-rated thriller The Housemaid has climbed the streaming ranks since arriving on Prime Video on Jun. 1 in various territories. Directed by Paul Feig and co-starring Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar, the film is one of the platform's most popular movies worldwide and sits at third place overall, behind Jack Ryan: Ghost War and Over Your Dead Body, while Greenland 2: Migration has fallen to fourth.

Adapted from Freida McFadden's novel, The Housemaid is presented as a modern revival of the erotic thriller. Sweeney plays Millie, a struggling young woman hired as a housemaid for a wealthy couple whose private life hides dark secrets and an unfaithful husband.

The film earned solid critical and audience response — 74% on Rotten Tomatoes with a 92% RT audience score — and delivered strong box-office returns. Made on a $35 million budget, it grossed $400 million worldwide and ended a run of low-grossing projects for Sweeney, following Americana ($1.5 million), Eden ($2.8 million) and Christy ($2.3 million).
