Swift and Kelce moved wedding from Rhode Island over security concerns
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce pivoted away from holding their wedding in Rhode Island because of security concerns. “Taylor and Travis really wanted their wedding in Rhode Island, and June 13 was the date, but security wouldn’t have worked because it could get out of hand with that kind of scale of an event,” a source said.
Ocean House in Westerly had been planned at one point, but plans later shifted to New York. Security teams assessed venues to determine what made sense, and the couple concluded Rhode Island’s access and perimeter arrangements were too difficult to secure. “So the main issue with Rhode Island ended up being security,” the source added.
The change came as the event began to grow and many people wanted to attend. The pair are now set to wed at Madison Square Garden on July 3, and a source said, “Everyone’s been sworn to secrecy.” Reported invitees include Karlie Kloss, Zoë Kravitz, Ed Sheeran, the Haim sisters, Suki Waterhouse, Gigi Hadid and Selena Gomez.
