'Supergirl' Writer Confirms Status of DCU's 'Wonder Woman' Reboot
Wonder Woman is being rebooted for the new DCU as a project disconnected from the previous DCEU. Gal Gadot starred as Diana Prince in 2017's Wonder Woman and 2020's Wonder Woman 1984, but plans for a third Gadot solo movie were canceled when James Gunn and Peter Safran restructured the DCU; the character is expected to be recast and the new film is currently in active development and appears to be a priority.
Ana Nogueira, who was enlisted to write the script last year with her involvement confirmed in July 2025, recently offered an update on her process. She is scripting three major feature films in Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, has turned in a highly praised Supergirl script that opens on Jun.
26, 2026, and is also developing a Teen Titans film. On her approach she said, "There will be a little sniper dot on my head if I say too much. But I will say that, like from all of it, I try to approach every character that I write from a place of what feels is the most true to me about them.
