Supergirl flops with $38M opening, matches Joker: Folie à Deux

Supergirl opened to a domestic box office of $38 million, a weekend take nearly identical to Joker: Folie à Deux. It fared only slightly better overseas, with an estimated worldwide opening of $68 million. Toy Story 5 remained the top draw with $70 million, and Supergirl’s three-day result trailed several recent releases; Michael and The Devil Wears Prada 2 both posted far stronger openings.

Other debut and holdover grosses included Obsession ($9.8 million), Jackass: Best and Last ($8.4 million), Disclosure Day ($8.1 million), Backrooms ($4.3 million), Scary Movie ($3 million), Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War — The Calamity ($3 million), Masters of the Universe ($2.2 million) and Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu ($1.6 million).
