Supergirl Divides Fans Over Final-Battle Soundtrack Choice
DC Studios returns to theaters with Supergirl, the DCU's second big-screen release after 2025's Superman. Directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Noguiera, the film stars Milly Alcock in her first full appearance as Kara Zor-El opposite Eve Ridley's Ruthye Marye Knoll and Jason Momoa's Lobo.
Drawing on Tom King's Woman of Tomorrow, it follows Kara and Ruthye on a savage intergalactic road trip to seek revenge. Early reviews are mixed: a 62% Tomatometer score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and a 75% Popcornmeter audience rating, with praise for Alcock and Momoa but criticism aimed at the script, visual effects and other elements.
Attention has focused on the movie's final battle after a leaked clip — since deleted — revealed the scene set to "The Middle" by Kelty Greye and KidMotel, first released in November 2023. Needle drops are common in superhero films, but this choice has provoked a strong reaction from fans online.
