Summer Game Fest 2026 preview: What to expect from this year's showcases

Summer Game Fest 2026 opens Friday with Geoff Keighley hosting the kick-off stream, followed by a weekend of livestream showcases. Sunday is especially busy, with the Xbox showcase and the PC Gaming Show scheduled back to back. The SGF stream will include the first gameplay for Star Wars: Zero Company.

Other items suggested for Friday include something tied to Guild Wars that could be Guild Wars 3, the racing game Clutch, NetEase's Blood Message, an Among Us-related item, an apparent leak around Persona 6, and one or more Muppets. Saturday's Future Games Show is expected to offer an extended look at Exodus, the Mass Effect-like RPG published by Wizards of the Coast.

The showcase typically runs a large lineup; this year the prelude is said to include more than 40 games, among them Halloween: The Game, Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival, The Pines, and Aniimo. On Sunday, Xbox will run its main showcase followed by a dedicated Gears of War: E-Day Direct.
