Stuntman: Hollywood Brings Iconic Movie Cars Together
Nearly 25 years ago a small PlayStation 2 game called Stuntman arrived with little fanfare. It was an action-driving title where you didn’t race or shoot but performed driving sequences as a Hollywood stunt driver, with each fictional film carrying its own theme—from Bond-style spy fare to disaster movies, 1970s cop thrillers and Mad Max-style action.
The original became a cult hit; after a middling sequel in 2007 the series went quiet for two decades. A new trailer for Stuntman: Hollywood debuted at State of Play and brings several iconic movie and TV vehicles together. The footage includes the DeLorean time machine from Back to the Future, KITT from Knight Rider, a Miami Vice–style sequence and Paul Walker’s Mitsubishi Eclipse from The Fast and the Furious.
Whether players will be recreating those films or acting as the driver on new shoots remains unclear. The game appears to lean on nostalgia and the thrill of piloting famous cars.
