Stuntman: Hollywood delivered the best 15 minutes of Summer Game Fest
My 15-minute hands-on demo of Stuntman: Hollywood at Summer Game Fest was the best 15 minutes I spent there. I’d never played the original games, but even without nostalgia this is a fantastic arcade driving experience that left me eager to revisit stages and chase the perfect run.
You sit in the driver’s seat performing stunts for action blockbusters while a director shouts instructions and visual indicators appear along the track. Prompts tell you to drift, launch off ramps or squeeze past oncoming cars — like a rally co-driver, only with more explosions.
Runs last a minute or two, and although the five demo levels are easy to complete, getting perfect marks on every stunt is genuinely challenging; Producer Tim Lohrenz joked about how glad he is current-gen consoles have effectively eliminated loading times. The controls are the standout.
