Studio Ghibli will open its first-ever store in the United States as a pop-up at Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, California. It opens for a limited run beginning June 23 and will offer more than 400 items. The pop-up will be operated by Donguri Republic, Studio Ghibli's official shop in Japan.

The company says the space will recreate the studio’s storytelling with wood-inspired interiors, whimsical displays and a giant Totoro waiting at a bus stop for the Cat Bus, and pictures on Donguri Republic’s site suggest what that display might look like. The announcement shows a few product photos, including a perpetual calendar featuring the Spirited Away railway car scene and an LED candle starring Calcifer from Howl's Moving Castle.

Donguri Republic's website may hint at additional items, such as a Princess Mononoke music box. Customers who spend $100 or more will receive a limited-edition Donguri Republic tote, and moviegoers attending Studio Ghibli Fest can pick up exclusive movie film-style bookmarks.
