'Stuart Fails to Save the Universe' Trailer Teases Multiversal Spin-Off
The Big Bang Theory universe expands again with Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, a spin-off centered on comic book store owner Stuart Bloom, played by Kevin Sussman. Unlike earlier series, this one leans fully into science fiction after Stuart breaks a multiversal device built by Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) and Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki), setting off a reality-shattering disaster.
HBO Max has released a new full trailer ahead of the show's July 23, 2026 premiere. It pulls Stuart into a world-jumping mission alongside an alternate version of himself, with the original Stuart described as "the chosen one that'll set things right." Brian Posehn's Bert Kibbler and Lauren Lapkus' Denise join the adventure, and Sussman's comic timing is on display amid wildly different settings.
The trailer's visuals echo the chaotic sci-fi energy of shows like Rick and Morty and Peacemaker. Wil Wheaton returns as a fictionalized version of himself from another universe, and John Ross Bowie appears as Barry Kripke.
