Brian De Palma's 1976 film Carrie, adapted from Stephen King's first novel and starring Sissy Spacek as a telekinetic teenager, remains a genre-defining revenge tale fifty years on. The thriller is currently available to watch for free on Pluto TV, but the streamer doesn't provide exact removal dates and it can be assumed that Carrie will leave on July 1.

Carrie follows a girl who has long been bullied—humiliated at her first period and controlled by her fervently religious mother, Margaret. A prom invitation meant as a kindness becomes the setting for a vicious prank, and the girl's hidden power brings the film to its bloody climax.

On release the film grossed nearly $34 million against a $1.8 million budget and earned Oscar nominations for Sissy Spacek (Best Actress) and Piper Laurie (Best Supporting Actress).
