SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7X Wireless Gen 2 review

SteelSeries has refined the Arctis Nova 7X Wireless rather than reinventing it. The second-gen model brings noticeably longer battery life and broader software support via SteelSeries' companion app, while retaining the comfortable, breathable fit and the same driver tuning that made the original so appealing.

Audio remains a strong suit: a beefier low end and crisp mids give music and games weight and detail, and the headset delivers a surprisingly wide soundstage for closed-back cans. The ClearCast Gen 2 retractable mic is unchanged and provides clean, usable comms, but it isn’t best-in-class.

Connectivity is very versatile, with Bluetooth, the bundled 2.4GHz USB-C receiver and a 3.5mm wired option, allowing use across consoles, PC, mobile and VR; simultaneous connections are supported. Battery life is improved—SteelSeries advertises up to 54 hours on the 2.4GHz link—and a 15-minute USB-C fast charge yields roughly six hours of use, while a full charge takes about 90 minutes.
