Making a good video game takes time, and Haunted Chocolatier is no exception. In a blog post, Eric Barone (ConcernedApe) says his latest update really just amounts to him “still working” on the game and that he has nothing big or concrete to share right now. He knows the project is taking a long time because he wants most everything the player interacts with to be “perfect,” “seamless, clear, intuitive, satisfying, aesthetic.” Barone uses the in-game recipe book for chocolate making as an example of the kind of detail that consumes him.

“As with many things in the game, I’ve iterated on this many times, each time bringing it closer to its final form. To me, it’s not a simple task, as I torture myself over every last detail.” He says the UI needs to let players accomplish their goals with the minimal number of clicks and present just the right amount of data.
