Electronic Arts confirmed during Summer Game Fest that Star Wars Zero Company will launch Aug. 27 for PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X, confirming leaks from earlier in the week. First announced in April 2025, Zero Company is the debut game from Bit Reactor, a studio made up of developers who worked on Civilization and XCOM.

The game shows clear structural similarities to XCOM: a turn-based tactical shooter where you return to a high-tech hub between missions on a quest to defeat an alien threat, and it features permadeath so fallen squad members are gone for good. Set during the Clone Wars, Zero Company casts players as ex-Galactic Republic officer Tesh Hawks leading a crew of misfits hired to track down a volatile Separatist splinter faction.

The Summer Game Fest trailer highlighted more crew members, including a Mandalorian and a Jedi Padawan, and ends with a "General Skywalker" igniting a blue lightsaber, suggesting the game is set before Revenge of the Sith.
