At the 2026 Summer Game Fest, Star Wars Zero Company revealed its gameplay, release date and price: $49.99. That matches what Firaxis charged for XCOM: Enemy Unknown in 2012 and sits below XCOM 2's $60 launch price a decade ago. Built by XCOM veterans, Zero Company pairs permadeath squad tactics with notably lavish production values.

Cutscenes lean toward CD Projekt–style detail, complete with intricate animations and a large voice cast. One of the game’s standout mechanics is its exploration: movement between fights and at the home base is zoomed in like a third-person action game, then it transitions seamlessly to the overhead view for combat.

The $50 tag is notable in a market edging toward $60, $70 and even $80 releases; another upcoming Star Wars title, Galactic Racer, is coming in at $60, and Rockstar has signalled an $80–$100 price for GTA6. Priced this way, Zero Company could stand out against cheaper indies and avoid the risk of a flop.
