Grand Admiral Thrawn (Mitth'raw'nuruodo) — last seen in 2023’s Ahsoka — returns this September in a new manga adaptation. The character, long a formidable strategist in Star Wars stories, will be revisited in a different format for readers and fans. The 192-page volume adapts Timothy Zahn’s 2017 novel Thrawn, is published by Panini Publishing and illustrated by Man Tsang, and has been summarized as charting the “formative steps of a mind destined to reshape the galaxy.” Thrawn has appeared across Star Wars canon and the non-canon Legends continuity, opposing figures such as Hera Syndulla, the Ghost crew and even Anakin Skywalker.

Zahn’s 2017–2019 Imperial Trilogy follows Thrawn’s rise from an exiled Chiss warrior who pledges loyalty to Emperor Palpatine and becomes one of the galaxy’s most ruthless tacticians; Marvel previously adapted the novel into a 2018 comic written by Jody Houser with art by Luke Ross.
