Southampton sign Daniel Peretz from Bayern on four-year deal
Southampton have completed the permanent signing of goalkeeper Daniel Peretz from Bayern Munich on a four-year contract for a reported £6 million fee. The Israeli international had an impactful loan spell on the south coast last season, playing an instrumental role in securing a Championship play-off place before the club’s subsequent disqualification.
Peretz arrived from Germany in January and quickly established himself as the undisputed first choice under manager Tonda Eckert. He made 26 appearances across all competitions, suffered just two defeats and played every minute of a 21-match unbeaten run to close out the domestic campaign.
His FA Cup display against Premier League opposition helped the Saints reach the semi-finals, and he registered eight clean sheets during his brief initial stint. He said: "I'm super excited. For the last few months this was my home, and we had so many good times and also some tense times, but even in the last few weeks with how we stayed together, you could really feel this home environment.
