Sonic the Hedgehog's 35th anniversary has arrived — it's been 35 years since the first game launched in the US on June 23, 1991. That means nearly four decades with the blue blur, chilli dogs, cheesy quips and the iconic Green Hill Zone, whose 16-bit music still plays in my head rent-free.

The series' longevity has produced plenty of toys based on Sonic and friends, from official Squishmallow plushies featuring Sonic, Tails and Knuckles to PEZ dispensers, game controllers and cookbooks. An order up of Chili Dogs, anyone?

To help get you started, I've gathered a Death Egg-sized lot of some of my favorite Sonic the Hedgehog collectibles, including pieces I own myself. Everything included is officially licensed by SEGA, so you can be assured you won't find a faker — unless you're specifically hunting Shadow the Hedgehog merch.
