The Blank Slate makes its formal debut next week. Designed by Slate Auto as a back-to-basics electric pickup, the vehicle aims to cut costs with a compact footprint and pared-down features—electric windows are even optional.

When Slate broke cover in 2025 it targeted a price of around $20,000, assuming the $7,500 IRS clean vehicle tax credit would remain in effect; that credit was abolished later that year. A listing that appeared briefly on Slate’s website showed a starting price of $24,950 for the standard-range truck, and screenshots with updated specifications were posted to the Slate forums.

The leaked specs included a slightly less powerful rear motor—181 hp (135 kW) instead of 201 hp (150 kW)—and a tow rating doubled to 2,000 lbs (907 kg). Those prices and specifications have since been removed from the site; official pricing and a first-ride impression will be available on June 24.
