Sky's the limit for Gio Reyna, says Kasey Keller after World Cup wondergoal
Gio Reyna finished the USMNT's 4-1 win over Paraguay with a stoppage-time trivela, stepping off the bench to curl a right-footed strike past Orlando Gill. Christian Pulisic opened the scoring and Folarin Balogun added a brace as the hosts rewrote the history books in that result.
Kasey Keller, a close friend of the Reyna family, said Reyna has enormous potential but must find greater consistency. “I think that's what we're waiting for. We're waiting to see how that can be week in and week out. Then the other question is why can't it be week in and week out yet?
... I'm sure nobody's more frustrated than Gio. The family's staying at our house for the Seattle game. I've known Gio since he was born,” Keller said, recalling Reyna's move to Gladbach and a spell interrupted by injury. With the USMNT heading to Washington state to meet Australia, Reyna will be hoping to play a prominent role.
