Try a demo of survival horror The Sinking City 2 before its August release
Developer Frogwares released a one-hour demo of The Sinking City 2 during the Future Games Show, and it is available now on Steam. The studio has set the full release for August 18.
The sequel appears more focused than the original, which spread its supernatural mystery across an open world and often felt thin. In a preview build earlier this year it played more like a traditional survival horror, with exploration confined to levels rather than an entire town to free-roam—more H. P. Lovecraft's Resident Evil than a budget Grand Theft Cthulhu.
A new trailer introduces the flooded setting of Arkham, where players can motorboat around as in the first game. The city is populated with Mythos monstrosities, including zombies with bulging fleshy weak spots and a sultry mermaid.
The August release leaves time to try the game before September's horror entries, Silent Hill: Townfall and vampire RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker.
