Silverwood is a master-planned, 9,000-acre residential community in Hesperia created to keep outpriced Californians close to home and add a multibillion-dollar boost to the local economy. The development combines lower-for-California home prices with a kindness pledge that every resident must sign.

John Ohanian, general manager of Silverwood, said many residents have told him how much they appreciate the idea and the way it is being lived out, adding, "If this is our legacy at Silverwood, I will be so proud." Sales moved quickly after the community opened: more than 40 homes sold in the first two weeks in April 2025, and total sales reached 225 properties by June 2026.

Ohanian called the first year "a success," pointing to strong community engagement and buyer interest despite no softening in the mortgage market and broader economic ups and downs.
