A release date for Silent Hill: Townfall was confirmed during Sony State of Play. It will launch on September 24, almost exactly a year after Silent Hill f marked the full return of the classic horror series. September is filling up fast. Blood of the Dawnwalker is due on September 3; Marvel's Wolverine lands on September 15 as a PS5 exclusive; Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 arrives on September 18; Control Resonant releases the same day as Townfall; and Onimusha: Way of the Sword follows on September 25.

The month’s packed schedule reflects a deliberate gap around Grand Theft Auto 6, which dominates November. That leaves several high-profile releases bunched together, and the same-day clash between Control Resonant and Townfall looks particularly tight. Players drawn to tonally askew, narrative-driven triple-A fare may well pick one over the other.

The new trailer leans into atmosphere — mist, ominous red lighting, and snippets of first-person, stealth-centric gameplay.
